Short Biography

Silvija Miliūnaitė-Bliūdžiuvienė (born in 1993) within the period from 1999 to 2012 studied in violin and composition class at Kaunas Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium. Within the period from 2012 to 2014 she studied composition in Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre under the supervision of professor V. Augustinas; in 2014 she continued studies in composition class under the supervision of professor M.Urbaitis.
On 17-25 November 2011 the first concerts of Silvija Miliūnaitė-Bliūdžiuvienė compositions were organised in Kaunas Artists` House and Lithuanian Composers` Union, Lithuania. The music project was organized again in 2014 and 2015 called “Muzika – mūsų mintys” (“Music is our minds”).

In 2011 for the composition “Naktis geležinkelio stotyje” (“Night on a Railway Station”) for three double basses she took the III place in the contest of young composers.
In 2013 the composer wrote “ANTISimfonija” (“ANTISymphony”) composition for string quartet upon order of legendary band of Lithuania called ANTIS. This composition was issued in CD and DVD format in the album “Baisiai Džiugu” (“Very joyful”) and performed on Capital Days in 2013.
In 2013 for canto “Tu mano sielai šviesa” (“You are my light’) the composer got the prize in St. Mass canto contest on the Day of Lithuanian Youth.
Silvija Miliūnaitė-Bliūdžiuvienė regularly improves her skills and knowledge in different international masterclasses.
In colaboration with various soloists, artists and orchestras, such as Džeraldas Bidva, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, “Jauna Muzika” Chamber Choir, “Art Vio” string quartet, “Projektas A” string quartet, “Antis” band and etc., compositions and arrangements of the composer were performed in different Lithuanian and international festivals and concerts.
